We recommend a protected ring core for the best Builder Hall 8 base, a compact air-control core for the best Builder Hall 7 base, and a short-path trap layout for a strong BH6 base. The correct structure changes with each level because new defenses, stronger troops, and the second stage create more ways for attackers to split pressure.
For every level, we prioritize four things: protecting the Builder Hall and O.T.T.O Outpost, forcing predictable troop movement, separating major defenses, and placing traps where an attacking army must turn or regroup.
Best Builder Hall 8 Base: Protected Ring Core and Two-Stage Defense
At BH8, place the Builder Hall inside a central ring of small compartments rather than behind the outer wall. Leave two or three defensive layers between the Hall and the easiest entry point. Put the Mega Tesla, Roaster, and other high-damage defenses inside or immediately beside this ring, while Firecrackers and Air Bombs cover opposite sides of the core.
Create two ground routes around the ring, but make one route visibly shorter. Use walls to direct ground troops toward a Crusher and Giant Cannon at a forced turn. This gives splash damage time to work while the Giant Cannon targets Battle Machine, Cannon Cart, or other high-value units moving through the lane. Avoid placing every defense in one tight cluster, since one push through the core should not remove all of your damage.
For traps, use Push Traps at the first major bend and Spring Traps on the exit from the Crusher compartment. Place Giant Bombs or Mega Mines where ground troops bunch up after crossing a wall. Set air Mines along the cleanest route to your Firecrackers, especially when an open edge could invite a direct air attack.
In stage two, keep the O.T.T.O Outpost in an offset pocket with its own walls and defensive coverage. Do not put it directly behind the Builder Hall, where a successful first-stage funnel can continue naturally. A separate approach forces the attacker to rebuild a path. Use a Push Trap or Spring Trap where troops must change direction before reaching the Outpost. This layout suits BH8 because stronger armies can switch targets between stages; the ring and offset Outpost make that switch costly.
Best Builder Hall 7 Base: Compact Core, Air Control, and Funnel Traps
The best Builder Hall 7 base is compact, with the Builder Hall near the middle and the Roaster, Crusher, and Giant Cannon covering the most likely entry lane. Keep Firecrackers and Air Bombs on different sides of the core so one air push cannot remove all of your protection. Place Archer Towers or Hidden Teslas where they support the core without becoming easy first targets.
Use short wall sections to form a funnel instead of a large single enclosure. One entry should lead toward the Crusher, while a second route bends past the Hall and exposes troops to the Giant Cannon. Keep the Guard Post outside the core, where defending troops can pull an early ground group into overlapping fire. The Hall should not sit against an edge; attackers should have to pass several defenses before securing its star.
Place a Push Trap before the Crusher and a Spring Trap at the next turn, rather than stacking both beside the Hall. Put a Giant Bomb at the point where ground units regroup after a wall break. Air Mines should cover the approach to Firecrackers, while ground Mines protect the narrow lane used by Cannon Carts or Battle Machine. In stage two, offset the O.T.T.O Outpost and let one defensive lane cover its approach from the side.
This structure fits BH7’s attack environment because the base has enough defenses to create meaningful funnels, but not enough to defend every direction equally. Compact spacing preserves overlapping fire, while separated anti-air defenses answer the growing threat from air-heavy attacks.
Best BH6 Base: Short Paths, Core Protection, and Trap Timing
A strong BH6 base should use a compact box with the Builder Hall slightly inside the defensive grid, not a wide perimeter. Place the Crusher and Roaster close enough to the Hall to punish troops that break through the first wall. Double Cannons and Archer Towers should cover the outer approach, while Firecrackers and Air Bombs sit on opposite sides to prevent one air lane from reaching both.
Build one obvious entry path, then make it reconnect near the core through a second short turn. This keeps ground troops in range of several defenses without creating a long route that attackers can avoid. A Guard Post near the first turn can pull troops away from the Hall, but it should support the main defense rather than act as the entire funnel.
BH6 traps work best when they control timing. Put Push Traps before the Crusher, Spring Traps on the narrow exit, and a Giant Bomb where units stop after crossing a wall. Place air Mines in front of Firecrackers and ground Mines on the route used by Battle Machine or Cannon Cart. In stage two, protect the O.T.T.O Outpost with a short approach and at least one trap before the final compartment.
This is the right BH6 concept because attackers have fewer tools for creating multiple deep funnels. A short route and concentrated splash damage are more reliable than a complicated ring that leaves individual defenses exposed.
Compare BH6, BH7, and BH8: Strengths, Weaknesses, and Best Use
- BH6 short-path base: Strength: concentrated Crusher, Roaster, and trap coverage. Weakness: predictable paths can be learned quickly, and the smaller defensive roster leaves fewer backup layers. Best use: protecting the Builder Hall against direct ground pushes.
- BH7 compact air-control base: Strength: balanced coverage against ground funnels and air attacks, with the Giant Cannon adding lane control. Weakness: over-tight placement can let one attack reach several defenses at once. Best use: a general-purpose layout for mixed attacks.
- BH8 protected ring base: Strength: layered core protection and a separate stage-two approach make target switching difficult. Weakness: a poorly placed ring can create a single safe path around the entire base. Best use: defending against flexible attacks that change direction between stages.
Use replays to adjust the specific entry lane. If ground troops reach the core too quickly, move the Crusher and Push Trap one compartment outward. If air troops bypass the main defenses, rotate an Air Bomb or Firecracker toward that edge. If the second stage falls immediately after stage one, move the Outpost off the same attack line rather than adding more defenses beside it.
