TH12 Base and Town Hall 9–12 Layouts for Farming, War, and Trophies

We should choose a base layout around the attack we want to make expensive, not around visual symmetry. Farming bases protect storages and offer poor pathing to loot; war bases deny clean three-star routes; trophy bases keep the Town Hall and defensive core difficult to reach for two stars.

Below, each Town Hall level uses a different structure. We can copy the concept, then move buildings and traps to match our upgrades, walls, and preferred defensive goal.

How to Choose a TH12 Base Layout for Farming, War, or Trophies

Start by identifying the resource or objective that must survive. For farming, place storages in separate compartments so one attack cannot reach several at once. Keep the Clan Castle central enough to cover the core, but do not create a straight path through every storage. The Town Hall can sit outside the deepest layer when loot protection matters more than trophies.

For war, protect the defensive core and break up likely entry routes. A strong war layout forces attackers to spend a jump, wall breakers, or a Siege Machine before they reach the Town Hall, Clan Castle, and highest-value defenses together. Avoid placing every major defense in one spellable cluster.

For trophies, use a central Town Hall with layered compartments around it. The aim is to make a safe two-star attack difficult: an attacker should not be able to reach the Town Hall and enough percentage buildings through one funnel. Place high-hit-point buildings near the outside to lengthen approaches, while keeping key defenses behind walls.

To read attack paths, begin at each obvious entry edge and trace the shortest route to the Town Hall. Check where troops will turn after destroying an outer building, where a wall breaker can open two compartments, and where a jump or Siege Machine can bypass your intended route. When adapting a copied base, move collectors and low-value buildings first. Preserve the number of core layers, defensive coverage, and compartment entrances, then retest the route rather than making the base perfectly symmetrical.

Town Hall 9 Base Layout: Compact Compartments, Spread Storages, and Trap Funnels

A reliable Town Hall 9 base layout uses a compact central core with four to six small compartments around it. Put the Clan Castle, X-Bows, key air defenses, and the most important defensive buildings inside or immediately around the core. The Town Hall belongs in the core for war and trophy use; for farming, move it one layer outward and make the storages the protected objective.

Do not stack all four storages beside the Town Hall. Place them in separate side compartments, ideally with collectors and other buildings creating different entry distances. This makes a raid commit to one side instead of collecting every resource from a single breach. Keep wizard towers near storage groups to punish massed units, and use mortars to cover likely outer funnels.

Build trap funnels at the points where Giants, Hog Riders, or Balloons are most likely to turn. Spring traps work between defenses on narrow ground routes, while giant bombs belong in likely Hog paths rather than beside the first visible defense. Put seeking air mines near air defenses and likely healer or Balloon approaches. For war, vary the trap positions on alternate layouts so a scout cannot identify every path immediately.

TH10 Base Layouts: Compare Two Approaches and Choose the Best Town Hall 10 Base

At Town Hall 10, we generally choose between a compact anti-two-star core and an offset ring or farming box. Both can be effective, but they protect different objectives.

Approach one: compact anti-two-star core. Place the Town Hall, Clan Castle, Infernos, and several high-value defenses inside two or three connected layers. Put the Infernos on different sides of the core, with X-Bows and air defenses covering the approaches rather than forming one spellable cluster. Use small side compartments to pull troops away from the Town Hall after the first wall break.

This design is the stronger best Town Hall 10 base for trophies and most war situations because it denies easy Town Hall access and makes percentage damage harder to chain. Its weakness is concentrated spell value: a well-planned Queen Charge, jump, or Siege Machine can still gain too much if the core has one obvious entrance. Offset the Clan Castle or one Inferno slightly so the attacker cannot destroy every key defense from one deployment zone.

Approach two: offset ring farming base. Put storages in separate compartments around a central defensive zone, then position the Town Hall away from the most valuable storage cluster. Use an uneven ring so troops do not circle cleanly around the outside. Place collectors on the perimeter to absorb time, but keep enough splash defenses behind them to punish farming armies that commit to one side.

This is usually the better TH10 base for farming because it spreads loot and makes a full clear inefficient. It is less reliable for trophies if the Town Hall is exposed, and it can give war attackers a predictable two-star route. We should also avoid placing all Infernos, X-Bows, or air defenses in the center; the ring should protect resources without giving attackers one high-value spell target.

Choose the compact core for war and trophy pushing, and choose the offset ring for resource protection. For either approach, place giant bombs at the end of a Hog or Miner route, spring traps between likely defensive stops, and seeking air mines beside air defenses or on the approach to the Town Hall. Test the copied layout from both the strongest air entry and the easiest ground entry before changing walls.

TH11 and TH12 Base Layouts: Split-Core TH11, Anti-2-Star TH12, and Adaptation Checks

A strong TH11 base usually uses a split core rather than one dense square. Keep the Town Hall, Clan Castle, Eagle Artillery, and Infernos close enough to support one another, but separate at least one major target behind a wall layer. This reduces the value of a single jump, freeze sequence, or Queen Charge.

For farming, place storages in four different compartments around the core and use the Eagle Artillery to cover the central approach. For war, use offset compartments so an attacker entering from one side cannot reach the Town Hall, Eagle, and Clan Castle in one charge. For trophies, center the Town Hall and use high-hit-point buildings to create a long route before the core.

Put giant bombs where bowlers, Hogs, or Miners will turn between compartments. Place spring traps on narrow links between defenses, and use small bombs near wall-breaker entry points. Seeking air mines should protect the Eagle or air defenses from the most obvious air corridor, while a Tornado Trap is most useful near the Town Hall or a high-value core defense when it can keep troops under fire longer.

A TH12 base needs an even more deliberate anti-two-star structure because the Town Hall itself is a major defensive objective. Build a layered central zone around the Town Hall weapon, Clan Castle, Eagle Artillery, and Infernos. Do not put every critical defense in a single square; use offset compartments and short dead ends to make Siege Machine support less decisive.

For farming, distribute storages through the second and third rings, with the Town Hall protecting the most valuable side rather than sitting beside every storage. For war, make at least two plausible entries appear safe, then place the real defensive value behind different wall layers. For trophies, center the Town Hall and use perimeter buildings to prevent a simple funnel into it.

Place Tornado and giant bomb combinations where troops are likely to reach the Town Hall after breaking the first layer. Use seeking air mines against the most direct blimp or air route, but avoid stacking all traps where one spell or test troop can reveal them. After copying any TH12 base, check whether your own Inferno modes, Eagle coverage, air-defense levels, and wall gaps match the original. Move outer buildings to fit your upgrades, keep the protected core intact, and replay the three shortest attack paths before finalizing the layout.

  • Town Hall 9: Use a compact core with split storages for farming, or centralize the Town Hall for war and trophies.
  • Town Hall 10: Choose the offset ring for farming; choose the compact anti-two-star core for war or trophy pushing.
  • Town Hall 11: Use a split core that separates the Town Hall, Eagle, and Clan Castle value across multiple entries.
  • Town Hall 12: Use layered anti-two-star compartments around the Town Hall weapon, then adapt traps to the strongest Siege Machine and air paths.
