Builder Hall Level 3 Base and Builder Hall 4 Layout Guide

We can build a dependable Builder Hall level 3 base with a compact core, then redesign it for a longer Builder Hall 4 layout rather than simply adding buildings around the old walls. The key change is to protect high-value defenses and use low-value buildings, corners, and traps to control the attacker’s route.

These plans are placement templates: adjust individual tiles to match your available walls and defenses, but keep the same priorities and pathing.

Builder Hall 3 Base: A Compact Core With a Trap-Led Path

Our BH3 base should use one protected central compartment and one deliberately awkward approach. Keep the Builder Hall near the center, not on the outer edge, so attackers must pass several defenses before reaching it.

  1. Place the Builder Hall in the inner compartment. Surround it with your strongest available walls, leaving no direct one-tile route from the outside.
  2. Put the Crusher just inside the most likely ground entrance. It should hit Giants and Boxer Giants after they cross the first wall, but it must not sit outside where it can be destroyed safely.
  3. Split ground defenses around the core. Place the Cannon and Double Cannon on different sides of the Hall. Put the Archer Tower on a corner so it covers an outer approach and the core at the same time.
  4. Protect air coverage from the opposite side. Keep the Firecrackers behind a wall, away from the first building an attacker is likely to destroy. If a Hidden Tesla is available, hide it near the Hall or at the end of the ground path.
  5. Lead troops through traps rather than blocking every entrance. Put a Spring Trap at a wall turn or between two buildings, Bombs just behind the first wall, and Mines on the direct route toward your Firecrackers.

Place low-value buildings such as Builder Barracks, Army Camps, mines, pumps, and spare storages outside the main walls. Stagger them along two sides instead of clustering them in one corner. This creates a longer funnel and prevents an attacker from gaining easy percentage with one troop group. Leave one apparent opening toward the Crusher, then cover the next tile with a trap.

Builder Hall 4 Layout: Air Bombs, New Traps, and a Longer Path

A Builder Base level 4 layout should become wider and more layered. We now have enough buildings and walls to make the attacker turn before reaching the Builder Hall, while the Air Bombs punish a direct air deployment.

  1. Keep the Builder Hall central, but give it a second defensive layer. Use the inner wall for the Hall, Hidden Tesla, and one key defense. Place the remaining defenses in a staggered ring rather than one square box.
  2. Place Air Bombs behind the core wall. Their position should cover the Builder Hall and the Firecrackers, not the exposed outer buildings. Avoid placing every air defense on the same side, since one attack angle should not disable all air protection.
  3. Build a clear ground lane. Put the Crusher at the first major turn, then place the Cannon and Double Cannon deeper along the route. This forces ground troops to survive both the turn and the core defenses.
  4. Use the Guard Post as a pathing tool. Keep it inside the second layer so its troops activate after the attacker commits. The defenders should pull troops toward the Crusher and away from an easy Hall approach.
  5. Move new traps to decision points. Use Push Traps at the end of an outer funnel, Spring Traps between defensive buildings, and Bombs or Mines where troops bunch after crossing a wall. Put air-targeting Mines on the side most likely to receive air troops.

Keep Barracks, Army Camps, resource buildings, and other low-value structures outside the core, but spread them across three sides. One side can be slightly more open to suggest an easy entry. The route should then turn toward a Push Trap, expose troops to the Crusher, and finish under overlapping Cannon, Archer Tower, Firecracker, and Air Bomb coverage.

Early Builder Base Placement Principles for Pathing and Protected Value

  • Protect value in layers. The Builder Hall, Crusher, Air Bombs, and Firecrackers deserve the safest positions. Outer buildings are tools for slowing troops, not assets that must all sit behind walls.
  • Make attackers turn. A straight lane lets troops reach the core quickly. Use offset buildings and wall corners so each turn exposes them to another defense.
  • Overlap ranges without stacking defenses. Every important approach should be covered by at least two defenses, but spreading them prevents one troop group from destroying everything at once.
  • Separate ground and air answers. Ground troops should face the Crusher and Cannons; air troops should remain under Firecracker and Air Bomb coverage. Neither defense type should be the only protection for the Hall.
  • Test the obvious entry first. If a simple Giant or air deployment reaches the Hall without crossing a trap or changing direction, move the nearest low-value building or wall corner.

BH3-to-BH4 Upgrade Checklist: What to Redesign, Not Copy

  • Replace the single compact BH3 box. Add a second layer and a turn so the extra BH4 walls create distance instead of merely enlarging the same compartment.
  • Move the Crusher inward. A Crusher that worked beside the BH3 entrance may become an easy first target once attackers have more troops and deployment options.
  • Reposition air defenses. Move Firecrackers and the new Air Bombs behind walls with overlapping coverage of the Hall. Do not leave air protection on the outer ring.
  • Reset every trap. BH3 Spring Trap and Bomb locations become predictable after an upgrade. Place Push Traps at corners and move Mines to the new air and ground lanes.
  • Redistribute exposed buildings. Do not carry forward a single corner of camps and resource buildings. Spread them around the base to create several slower approaches.
  • Use the Guard Post inside the path. Its defending troops should pull attackers deeper into your overlapping defenses, not activate at the edge and disappear before the core.
